Look how close Greens came in last May’s Euro Elections:

Conservative 14%
Green 13%

In South Northamptonshire it’s true that the extreme leave and remain parties took the lion’s share of that vote but in this General Election it is only the Green Party that has positive life saving policies and plans and can win over the business-as-usual Conservatives.

The only vote that counts is a vote for Denise. Go Greens!

GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE STATEMENT

I’ve been an active Green Party member since 2016 and am often seen out on the streets of Northampton litter-picking, feeding the homeless or canvassing. I’m standing for election as parliamentary candidate in South Northamptonshire, where I’ve lived with my family for more than 20 years.

CAMPAIGNING FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL SERVICES
I’ve worked in public service since 1988 as a midwife and now as a General Nurse Practitioner. During my career, I’ve seen first-hand the many negative changes in health and social care and I am campaigning for improvements to these services.

I will work to restore the NHS, also the police, fire services and schools to meet the needs of the people of Northampton in 2019 – not 2010.  The public are suffering reduced services, problems obtaining medication, increased waiting times and closure of local services. The seriousness of the on-going crisis in our NHS has been exacerbated through the current route of a No Deal Brexit.

ALLEVIATING POVERTY HELPS THE WHOLE ECONOMY
Tackling poverty in Northampton will also help small businesses and the entire local economy. I’ll be working to end the need for food banks by lifting people out of poverty, ending child hunger and providing homes for the homeless. If poorer people are better off, they tend to spend their income locally. I champion our small businesses and want to see benefits for all communities.

ENVIRONMENT
I am campaigning against HS2, which is threatening homes and ancient woodlands.  I’m a keen walker (having hiked up Ben Nevis and completed the 2019 Moon Walk for charities) and am passionate about the need to protect the fragile ecosystems in our beautiful countryside.

I am campaigning against fracking and urging councils in Northamptonshire to act on their declared climate emergency promises before further environmental damage is done.
